MOTHER’S DAY

Mother’s Day is a time of commemoration and celebration of moms everywhere. It is a time for spending quality time, renewing bonds and precious gift giving to show mom how much you care.
In honor of the Lady of Light, Lady Fatema (sa), the beloved daughter of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) who showed mankind how a woman can be the pivot around which the family revolves, the Al Muntazir Schools students made their moms feel very special on the Mothers’ Day celebration.
At Al Muntazir Toddlers and Day Care Centre, The teachers and children of toddlers were happy to receive moms on Friday, 25th April 2014. Mothers were welcomed with a badge decorated by the toddlers Mothers and children were engaged in various activities to create their own master pieces and memories to cherish forever, together they toured through the activities of cake decorating, art and crafts, sorting cutleries, making play dough, pretend cooking, washing dishes and reading. During the week, the children made cards, poems with a personal touch of handprint and a puppet out of wooden spoons to gift their mothers.
At Al Muntazir Union Nursery School, the occasion was celebrated on Thursday, 24th April 2014. The school was decorated with sayings of the Lady of light and various attributes related to being a mother, basic facts and so much more as a sign of great reverence and devotion. A warm welcome wishing all the beautiful mothers was followed a heart touching speech shedding light on the Daughter of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) which brought alive the motherly spirits amongst all. The ceremony continued with children singing some rhymes for their mothers and a fun filled activity which involved the participation of both mother and child to decorate a wooden spoon. At the closing of the program each child hugged their mothers’ good bye. The 3rd year students work dedicated for their mothers was displayed on each wall.
The Students at Primary Schools had their celebration on Tuesday & Wednesday, 29th and 30th April for Lower and Upper primary respectively.The day started at the Al Muntazir Boys Primary School by a sport speech on the Holy Lady by Mehdi Sheriff and Zakaria Brigden recited a poem on mothers and their unconditional love. Mothers then took centre stage and went to their selected areas of activities which ranged from the sporty ones like, hopscotch, skipping, rolling the ball, fish in the tank and a handball match pitting mothers against their children, to preparing 3D models from play dough, creating art from waste and painting in crafts were held to mark the occasion. The Treasure Hunt around the school brought in a lot of intense competition between mothers which turned out into an aerobic workout as well as fostering a great bonding between mother and child. Winners were awarded in all activities.
The mothers' at the Al Muntazir Girls Primary School walked into the school beautifully dressed in red, purple and pink clothes along with their daughters matching dress code. Mothers with their daughters went through a variety of activities which included different postings for art and craft such as cards making, fridge magnets, bookmarks, face painting and coloring activities. The most exciting part for the day was the photo booth, where the students were excited to pose with their mother using different props.
The last week of April was full of joy, fun, celebration and bonding. After all, who can deny, that Mothers are the first teachers in our lives and our world revolves around them.
