ZANTEL Management has rewarded 31 employees for being the best performers for the year 2011 compared to 25 employees in 2010. This is the first event of its kind for Zantel staff and is going to be done every year as part of Staff Recognition Program built in the organization as aligned to Zantel’s core values.
Among other things, the program is geared towards building capacity to line managers to take recognition as one of their key functions. Managers should not take recognition as something to be done as part time job, "I can find time for it." It is an expectation and all managers are held accountable for their employees’ performance.
“Zantel management takes recognition for the best performers as one of its strategic plan to motivate, develop and retain high performing employees for the aim of becoming the employer of choice”, said Ali Bin Jarsh, Zantel’s Chief Executive Officer.
Mr. Hussain N. Kunju, Zantel’s Chief Human Resources Officer has received a special award for his outstanding contribution he has made to the business for the year 2011.
“We need continuous performance dialogues and business talks in the company to ensure a performance culture in Zantel” Commented Mr. Kunju.
The event was decorated by speeches from best performers representative Mr. Ibrahim Attas and one of the Group HIPO from Zantel Mr. Hamad Shehe, sharing with the team their success stories.
