Top Three Winners. QUR’AN HIFDH COMPETITION 1435 AH / 2014  "And recite what has been revelaed to you of hte Book of your Lord, there is none who can alter His words; and you shall not find any refuge besides Him". Memorizing the entire Qur’an is a dream many Muslim parents today have for their children. And indeed, this is a goal nobler than many, if not all; others. According to the saying of our Holy Prophet (SAWW)’ “It is an action that heralds great success in this world and the world hereafter”. Qur’an Hifdh Competitions are held annually for the KG III / Montesssori III children during the Holy month of Ramadhan at the AMUNS since 2007. The competition was held in three stages. During the Preliminaries held on the 10th of July, children were assessed on the 12 surahs they had memorized from Juz A’mma of the Holy Quran. Out of the 111 students who had registered, 41 of them performed well and moved on to the semi finals. During the second stage of the competition which was held on 15th of July, 10 out of the 41 participants went through to the final round. The final round which was the Interschool competition comprised of 3 other schools namely: Bilal Comprehensive School Lady Fatema Nursery School Memon Day Care / Academy A total 35 children from the 4 schools (AMUNS included) took part in this competition. It was a tough competition but the final judgment was very fair. The Judges Nasreenbai Lalji and Rukhsanabai Rahim (Semi final) as well as Fatimbai Dewji and Aminabai Dhalla (Inter-School Competition) had a very hard time to select the winners as all the participants did extremely well in memorizing the Suras’. The top 3 positions were all clinched by Lady Fatema Nursery School who performed outstandingly this time and the winners were: 1st position – Selemani Mbwana 2nd position – Safia Mwalimu & Fatuma Mohamedi 3rd position – Adija Abdallah We congratulate the winners and all the participants and pray for their success in this world and the Hereafter for their noble efforts of memorizing the Quran. The Holy Prophet (SAWW) said " Whoever reads the Qur'an, memorizes it and acts upon it on the Day of Judgment he will be clad (by angels) with a crown of light, its light is like the sunlight and his parents will be clad with two garments better than the whole world and whatever it contains."
